I think that a Pickleball court should be added in the community center. It’s fun to play and would be used by a growing number of people.

Whom might I speak to about such an endeavor?

Not an idea, just wish an update on when San Lorenzo Community Park phase 1 will be completed? The summer of 2017 seems to be wishful thinking right now. Also, is the plan to do one thing at a time?...

Not an idea, just wish an update on when San Lorenzo Community Park phase 1 will be completed? The summer of 2017 seems to be wishful thinking right now. Also, is the plan to do one thing at a time? Why are not different areas being developed at the same time? Nothing appears to be worked on where the old baseball fields were. Also, no baseball, only softball? Seems sort of sexist against men. Wonder if those who voted for it could go back, based on what has been accomplished so far, and change their vote now, would do it?

My friends and I have come up with the idea of creating a new park in between Hayward and San Lorenzo. All of the skateparks in San Lorenzo, San Leandro, and Hayward are showing signs of age. Not to mention, a couple of skateparks were designed without skaters; Meaning the parks aren't very good. We hope to gain a specific amount of money through fundraising and a Gofund to build an adequate park where many of us can connect. As of now, it's just an idea but I really hope this idea gets recognized.

I do believe that it would be fair if we created a park Mainly for roller skaters or anyone on wheels. Now that basketball hoops are up on the courts we can’t really skate or tennis courts they won’t let anyone with wheels. It’s hard to find places that have smooth concrete and lots of places to skate are too far away.

What happened to the wonderful group of hippies that were in charge when I left?

Disc Golf is a low-impact and environmentally friendly sport, which is growing in popularity in the U.S. and around the world. It is the perfect sport for students, as the start-up costs for discs are a low as $15. There is an open field next to Hayward High (Corner of 2nd st. and Walpert) that could provide students and the community an amazing opportunity to play a beginner/intermediate level course for free and to practice a more active lifestyle. Livermore has a course, and San Leandro has a course in Chabot Park (closed until 2018 for Dam construction). Let's build a community here in Hayward and get youth involved in the process.

A park where families/community can relax and enjoy watching their children play in a safe environment. D St. is such a busy street and this area needs a park for children/adults can exercise and maintain a healthy life, physically and mentally. Because of the heavily traveled street it is difficult to build community on this street. This would be another way to bring Hayward residents together to create a safe community. Parks create community and the more we have it is better for our everyday lives. Children LOVE parks. Parks make people happy!
