Marcie Zimmerman Ms. Marcie Zimmerman who has been volunteering in the Senior Adult Program at the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior and Community Center for over 7.5 years was selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for May 2012.
Ms. Zimmerman is an integral part of the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior Center, where she volunteers for the Tuesday and Thursday Café lunch program since she first became a volunteer. She also helps train new volunteers to get them acquainted with their kitchen duties. Marcie has shown great dedication to the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior Center and has become a great role model for the other dedicated volunteers in the kitchen.
In addition to her kitchen
duties, Marcie also volunteers at many special events at the Center
throughout the year, some of which include helping prepare meals and
snacks at the spring and fall flea markets, the Senior Health and
Wellness Resource Fair, the Ice Cream Social and the Holiday High Tea.
If all of the above are not enough, Marcie also looks after the other
volunteers when they are not feeling well by checking on them at their
homes and bringing over soups and meals that she has prepared for them,
and is very deserving of the Board of Directors’ Monthly Volunteer
Recognition Award. She will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year
Award for 2012.
