The Animal Lending Library is temporarily closed due to COVID-19.
How would you like to take home your very own pet for a week?
Try our Animal Lending Library service, which enables children, as well as adults, to learn the basics of pet care. Find out about the responsibilities and enjoyment of having a pet - feeding, cleaning, grooming, handling, and exercising - without the long-term expense and commitment of purchasing an animal. This is a great opportunity for first-time pet owners, apartment and condominium living with little or no yards, children with allergies to dogs and cats, classrooms, or simply for people on the go.
All animals are rented for one week. Our animals are limited so we are unable to extend rentals.
The animal lending library is only operational Saturdays & Sundays from 10 AM - 3 PM. Animals are rented on a first come first served basis. No reservations accepted.
What we require for a rental:
A Valid Driver's License or I.D. (must be 18 years or older)
$40 Deposit on a Visa/Mastercard/American Express (refundable upon return of the animal)
$28 Fee payable by cash, check, credit or debit (Visa/Mastercard/American Express).
Animals to Choose From:
Guinea Pigs, Rats, Mice, & Hamsters
Cage, Food, Water Bottle, Food Bowl, Animal-Specific Care Sheet
Note: An overdue fee of $6 per day is charged on a late animal. We lend only one animal per family, but you can come back several times to rent a different animal each time.
