Alice Reis
Ms. Alice Reis, a volunteer in the Senior Adult Program since January 2004, has been selected for the October 2012 Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award. Alice has given her time generously over the years to help in any way she can. She volunteers her time at the Hayward Area Senior Center and the Kenneth Aitken Senior Center and works three days a week between the two Senior Centers. Her responsibilities include helping in the kitchen with the nutrition program and assisting with the Bingo program. For the nutrition program, she arrives early on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and sets up the tables for the luncheons; which entails setting up napkins, silverware, cups, and making sure the cream, sugar, salt and pepper shakers are filled and placed on the tables. Alice also assists with an inventory of the kitchen supplies on an annual basis. After lunch, she cleans all the tables before the Bingo program starts. During the Bingo program, she takes attendance and helps verify winning cards. In addition to helping in the luncheon and Bingo programs, she also helps with the Casino Bus Trips; by helping with Bingo on the bus and helping keep track of participants to be sure that everybody is on the bus for the ride home.
