Mr. David Hillis was awarded the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for November 2013 for his over 30 years of volunteer service at the Hayward Senior Center.
David started volunteering his time at the Hayward Area Senior Center in January 1983 after finishing law school. He regularly works on the first and third Thursday of each month for a one hour block of time. He has given his time generously over the past thirty years helping seniors with information on a variety of legal topics such as estate planning, probate law, family law, landlord and tenant law and personal injury law. Legal advice can often be expensive and intimidating and because David volunteers his service, seniors can get assistance free of charge at the Hayward Senior Center. David has literally helped thousands of seniors during his 30 years of volunteer service.
David is dedicated and dependable, and has rarely missed a day in the 30 long years he has volunteered. He has a warm and friendly personality that makes it easy for seniors to seek his help with important matters.
David has proven himself to be a great asset to the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District and we are very thankful for all of the time and energy he volunteers. The Hayward Area Senior Center staff is pleased of David’s recognition by the Board of Directors.
David’s picture will be displayed in the District Administration Office as the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Awardee for November 2013. In addition, he will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2013.
