Mark Shinners regularly volunteers in the newly established V.I.P.- Volunteers in Parks Program. The 2nd Saturday of each month, a special H.A.R.D. park that needs TLC is scheduled for V.I.P. – Volunteers in Parks. The call to volunteerism is sent out through Social Media and direct email, and Mr. Mark Shinners has repeatedly answered to these calls. Volunteers work for at least 3 hours under the direction of H.A.R.D. Volunteer Program and Parks Staff to do tasks, such as pull weeds, paint, and give general care and TLC to our local parks. In addition, non-profit and church groups such as My Eden Voice and the Church of Ladder day Saints have volunteered on days outside of the 2nd Saturday of the month, and Mark has even come out to volunteer with these groups.
Mark has volunteered on several Saturdays this year and help improve local parks such as Sunset Park, the Hayward Community Gardens and East Avenue Park and Parson’s Park in Castro Valley. Mark has proven to be a reliable, hard worker and dedicated to his community by volunteering his time and talents. Because of Marks volunteer services, the H.A.R.D. parks are improved, and many more citizens can enjoy their local parks.
