HARD is developing a Master Plan for Sulphur Creek Nature Center (SCNC) that will identify and prioritize much-needed improvements, from improved access to new recreation features.
Sulphur Creek Nature Center is a special place!
By bringing people and animals closer together through animal rehabilitation and education programs, SCNC strives to instill a sense of responsibility for the welfare of our world. SCNC is one of the few FREE nature centers in Alameda County with live native wildlife exhibits, and receives over 40,000 visitors every year. SCNC offers recreational opportunities as well as educational programs for all ages, including school presentations and summer camps.

We need your input to develop the Sulphur Creek Nature Center Master Plan!
Your input will make SCNC a more special place for all visitors! Community participation will guide the Master Plan and is instrumental for an award of a Proposition 68 Grant.
SCNC master plan will also incorporate improvements outlined in the Outdoor Environmental Education Facilities Grant that was awarded to HARD in 2018. The grant provides 0.5 M funds for outdoor classroom, improved Creekside animal program area, renovation on outdoor amphitheater, way finding signage and entry kiosk.
