has been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition
Award for December 2009. He has volunteered as a coach for the
boy’s basketball teams at Bret Harte Middle School for seven years. Mr.
Goodwin donated a total of 120 volunteer hours during 2009.
He is a mentor to the youth in his position as basketball coach. The
time that he invests on behalf of the youth at Bret Harte has definitely
made an impact on the school and those that he is a role model to. Billy’s
service to our community should not be measured by the number of hours
that he volunteers, but by the quality time that he spends with the youth
that look up to him as a positive and caring adult. He should be
commended for his dedication to the youth, not to forget the impact that
he makes on each student-athlete that he coaches. Bret Harte School,
H.A.R.D. and the Hayward community should be very grateful for Billy
Goodwin’s dedication and commitment. He is indeed a valuable asset
and the Sports Office staff is very happy to nominate him for the Monthly
Volunteer Recognition Award.
He will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2009, which
will be announced in January.
