has been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for October 2011. She has been a volunteer in the PhotoCentral Program for over five (5) years and has donated a total of 60 volunteer hours so far this year.
Sonja has been an active participant in the PhotoCentral Program and has participated in the Spring Show, assisted with hanging the PhotoCentral Shows, in addition to volunteering at numerous Show openings and receptions every year. She is currently working on curating a Show of Bay Area Teen Photography scheduled in January 2013. She has developed the concept and is currently approaching companies to request their support for funding. She is extremely driven and dedicated. Her passion for visual arts and photography has led her to develop a project that will engage the youth of our community as well as teach them how to have a voice, both individually and collectively. Sonja is a leader and a visionary, and the Photography Program is certainly lucky to have her as a part of the program.
She will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2011, which will be announced in January, 2012. |
