 has been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for October 2007 for her services in the Volunteer Hayward Office. Renay has been a volunteer since August 2007 and helps coordinate events, assists with adopt-a-family, performs administrative tasks, helps out in the Senior Program and willingly takes on any assignment. She also works for the Hayward Unified School District’s Youth Enrichment Program.
Renay tries to fit in two hours of volunteer work four days per week before heading off to her afternoon job with the YEP Program. Renay is friendly, kind and calm and is a wonderful ambassador because of her gracious and welcoming nature. Because the Volunteer Hayward office is located at the Hayward Senior Center, Renay enjoys interacting with the seniors and the Staff of the Center and even pitches in when they need help. Her positive and composed nature helped ensure a smooth new school year and the Week of Caring Activities that coincided with the opening of the schools. Renay quickly establishes a rapport with the volunteers, and always welcomes and encourages them to volunteer. She has helped interview brown bag participants, selecting those who will be eligible for this year’s adopt-a-family program and will prove to be a wonderful asset to this year’s Holiday programs of Volunteer Hayward.
Renay is a reflection of today’s volunteers. She is a graduate of UCLA. She is a working parent and very busy, yet she finds the time to help out in the community and Volunteer Hayward is happy to have this very hard working volunteer on board.
Her picture will be displayed in the District Administration Office as the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Awardee for October 2007. In addition, she will be eligible for the Volunteer-of-the-Year Award for 2007, which will be announced in January 2008. |
