, a volunteer Water Safety Instructor Aide and a volunteer Junior Lifeguard at the Castro Valley Swim Center, was selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for August 2011.
Approximately two thousand customers visited the Castro Valley Swim Center during our recreational swimming program and, likewise, approximately two thousand swimmers were enrolled in the swim lesson programs this past summer. Bethany eagerly assisted the swim instructors with their classes in every way possible. She is knowledgeable in all skills and was able to demonstrate and help teach the students. When not in the water, Bethany was a great help to the office staff doing whatever was needed to help our program run smoothly. She always tries her best and can complete most tasks without much direction.
Bethany was involved in many activities this past summer outside of the pool, but she always arrived on time and completed all necessary tasks to the best of her ability. She loves being in and around the pool and it shows in her smile every day. She is what all Aquatics volunteers should aspire to be.
Bethany will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2011, which will be announced in January, 2012. |
