Congratulations to Our Volunteer of the Month

Ariana Raelenna Ms. Ariana Love and Ms. Raelenna Love have been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for the month of July for their hard work and dedication at the Arroyo Swim Center, where they contributed 135 hours during the 2007 summer.   Both volunteers have been very helpful, have gone above and beyond their duties and proven to be quick learners. They were able to perform tasks often done by paid personnel.  Their friendly attitude and smiling faces get the most reticent children to stop crying and finally enjoy the water. During public swim Adrienne and Raelenna were helpful in getting bags from the patrons and helped out with the swim test wristbands while on a rotation with the other junior guards. This year, both were part of our great Junior Guard Team. They, along with Adam White and Patricia-Denise Malara, had the best overall team score at the Lifeguard games. Moreover, Ariana and Raelenna also tied for 1st place in the Adult Rescue Breathing category, and Raelenna received the Female Iron Guard award, which means that she got the most points for a Female Junior Guard.  The Aquatics staff has had the pleasure of watching Ariana and Raelenna grow from beginning Junior Guards to veterans who have helped new junior guards learn the ropes. Everyone looks forward to having them back over the next couple of summers and, hopefully, becoming lifeguards.Their picture will be displayed in the District Administration Office as the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Awardees for July 2007.  In addition, they will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2007, which will be announced in January, 2008.
