has been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition
Award for April 2010 for her volunteer work in the Dance Program at the
Castro Valley Community Center, where she has volunteered for over two
years.
Ashley volunteers on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. She assists
Miss Barbara Primmer with tap, ballet, jazz and acrobatic dance classes
for youth ages 4 to 13 years old. She is extremely knowledgeable
of the various dances, assists with choreography and is a participant
in the highest level dance workshop, PAWS. Ashley is a very helpful
and dedicated volunteer. She is patient and caring towards the
students and her joy of dancing comes through when she works with them. In
addition to being a teaching assistant, Ashley has spent a majority of
this year helping to prepare the younger dancers for the May 15th Dance
Recital at the Castro Valley Community Center. Ashley’s volunteer
hours have been invaluable and have helped the District provide quality
dance programs to the youth of our community.
She will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2010, which
will be announced in January of 2011.
