has been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition
Award for February 2009. She has been a volunteer in the Tuesday
Senior Program at the Ashland Community Center for over a year. The
program provides social time, games, and guest speakers on pertinent
topics, exercise and a hot, healthy lunch every Tuesday to over fifty
seniors livings in the Ashland area.
Mae Mosley first began as a participant and immediately noticed the
help needed in the program and generously volunteered her time to the
program that runs every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. She
works very hard at making sure the older adults are well taken care of. She
brings water, snacks, and supplies to those who cannot get up and down
easily, thereby going above and beyond the call of duty to insure the
safety and well being of others. In addition to the Tuesday Senior
Program, Mae Mosley volunteers at other Ashland events, including the
holiday potluck party helping organize food and extending hospitality
to all the attendees. Mae is very dependable and brings a special
joy to the program.
Mae will be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2009, which
will be announced in January of 2010.
