Adult Nature Programs

For Adults Only • Reservations Required • $16 per person

Join the naturalists at Sulphur Creek Nature Center in a series of programs to explore nature up close.  Registration is required for the following adult-only nature programs as space is limited.  Call (510)881-6700 for information to register.  These programs are designed for adults only.  Must be at least 18 to attend.

Enjoy the Pintails and Shovelers diving and dabbling while Avocets and Stilts stir up the waters. Discover a multitude of water birds along our shoreline and the other migratory birds that use the Pacific Flyway. Meet at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, 4901 Breakwater Ave., Hayward. Bring binoculars and walking shoes

Rain and mist are a salamander’s signal to begin its journey to a favorite pond or creek. Join our walk along the creek trail as we follow the salamander trail and discover their secret rendezvous spots. Wear your rain hat and hiking shoes for this adult nature excursion. We will meet at the Oak Drive and Durham Road trailhead in Hayward.

 

Magnificent Mountain Lions

The Mountain Lion (Felis concolor), nearly hunted to extinction in the early 1900’s, is finally making a comeback! Come to this special presentation by the Felidae Conservation Fund to learn about California’s most controversial, powerful, and elusive carnivore.
