Session 2: 1:30pm - 4:00pm
When asked which animals people fear most, sharks are among the most commonly reported. However, the fear of sharks is unjustified and is often a result of long standing myths, insufficient scientific research, and Hollywood’s misinformation. With a few notable exceptions, such as Great White and Tiger Sharks, the vast majority of sharks pose no threat to humans and play key roles in marine ecosystems. Visitors will touch a shark, feed a shark (and other aquarium animals), talk to a shark expert, make a craft to take home, and learn how to fish for sharks in the Bay.
