The Rowe Family Natalie, Kevin, California and Sierra Rowe have been selected for the Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award for January 2013 for donating their time to help beautify the Hayward shoreline. On several occasions, they have participated as a family in the Weekend Weed Warriors program and our regular Shoreline Takers program. Pulling weeds and picking up trash along the trail is hard work and they help with a smile and a positive attitude. They are consistent in their attendance and they contribute greatly to the health and appearance of the salt marsh and its inhabitants.
The fact that the Rowe’s volunteer as a family demonstrates their commitment to improving their community. They are an example for other program participants to emulate. Sierra and California are often the youngest volunteers at a given event. California and Sierra have essentially grown up with HARD!
In addition to their dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer service for the Interpretive Center, they participate in many District programs and events as Community members. Natalie Rowe is an environmental education champion, exposing her girls to the benefits of taking care of their environment.
The Rowe family is very deserving of the Board of Directors’ Monthly Volunteer Recognition Award and will be eligible for the Volunteer-of-the-Year Award for 2013.
